ONLINE PROJECTS

Learning to sew CREATIVE.....and SMARTER!

Lutterloh Patterns NZ is offering Online Projects (Skirts, T-Shirts, Trousers, Jeans & Blouses) to students all over the world. We are marketing all our Projects in a CD format. Therefore you can order any Project from us and we will ship it to you immediately on a CD. This will allow you to work through the Projects in your own time (whenever and where-ever you want to). The Online Projects will be conducted on a similar basis as our Online Classes. We will use patterns from the Lutterloh Pattern Collection. If you don't have the pattern, we will supply it. Sewing instructions will also be provided. You will draft the pattern in you size, sew it up and fit...and then the real fun starts!

Project lessons on the CD will be in Adobe Acrobat format (PDF). They can easily be printed and punched for storage in a three ring binder. Click here to download the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader. I will personally answer your questions as we go along, and you will have the opportunity to see what others ask and the answers as well. Not only will you learn a lot, but you will also have fun.

We will post three or four time frames per annum on our Website. During these time frames (three weeks each) you can post any questions relating to the Classes/Projects you have enrolled for, to Sonja.

Discussions will be held via e-mail, so that all students can participate in their available time. Nothing is LIVE, so that we can be sure to include all of our participants from around the globe. With instructions so detailed and graphics so clear, you'll feel like you are actually in the classroom receiving one-on-one attention. Each project includes e-mail support for questions that are related to that particular project.

The time frames for 2010 - when you can post questions to Sonja - will be:

	4 January - 17 January
	17 May - 4 June
	23 August - 5 September
	1 November - 19 November

The following Projects will be offered and more will be introduced in years to come

Skirt Designing

Price: US$39

We will kick-off with a simple plain Pencil-Skirt pattern from the Lutterloh Pattern collection (our Master Pattern) and apply some simple design changes. First of all lengtening and shortening the skirt and changing the waistband (facings, elasticized, ribbing, contour waists & hipsters). Next we will change the skirt to an A-line, yoke, wrap & gore skirt. Lastly we will focus on bias/flirty skirts and some interesting designs.

T-Shirt Designing

Price: US$39

We will start with a simple T-shirt pattern from the Lutterloh Pattern collection (our Master Pattern) and then apply some simple design changes. We will change the neck-line to different styles: V-Necklines, Round Necklines, Square Necklines, Boat Necklines, Basic Cowl Necklines, Keyhole Necklines, Polo/turtleneck & Funnel Neck.

Trousers Designing

Price: US$39

Starting again with a simple trouser pattern from the Lutterloh Pattern collection (our Master Pattern) and apply some simple design changes. Kicking-off with just changing the waists (hipsters, contoured, elasticized, waistbands & ribbing). Then go on to changing the widths of the legs (bootleg, wide, narrow) and to more advanced changes (inserting zips, pockets, embroidery etc)

Jeans Designing

Price US$39

Making your own Jeans? It's much easier than you would think!! Do some design changes in order to get your own personal designer Jeans to fit your body shape. It's comfortable and you will look great in them.

We will start with a traditional Jeans Pattern from the Lutterloh collection (Our master Pattern) and get our fit perfect to our figure type. Full instructions and helpful hints to sew your Jeans will be provided.

Blouse Designing

Price US$39

Blouses....the most essential and versatile part of your wardrobe.

Starting off with a plain Blouse pattern. Getting the fit and dart positions correct. Moving the dart to different positions to achieve a complete different look. Changing the collar and necklines. Also making it a fitted princess-line. Full instructions to sew your Blouse and handy tips.

Maternity Wear Designing

Price US$39

Maternity wear has at long last become more attractive. Now with the volume silhouette back in fashion, the early months of pregnancies are even more easily accommodated with normal clothes.

With this project, we are going to start with a few basics (trouser, skirt & t-shirt) � inserting pieces or changing design lines using your master pattern to convert it to maternity wear. These patterns you can use for all seasons, made individual with the careful choice of fabric and a little creative variation; you�ll have heaps of options in making your new wardrobe for this exciting stage.

You will need trousers and a few skirts � expandable as the time goes on � tops to mix and match with your bottoms. This will give you more versatility and you won�t get so sick of the same old clothes. We're also using a Empire-dress pattern and do changes with it using it as a dress or shortening it for additional tops.

Teaching Children To Sew

Why sewing is important:

It is creative, teaches them self-sufficiency, problem solving and driving skills. It's entertaining!

Teaching your children/grandchildren to sew is exciting and very rewarding, regardless of the amount of sewing knowledge of the parent. Allow your child to work at their own pace, don't expect perfection but praise them on the result.

Sewing is fun - the colours, the fabrics, and the styles. It's a wonderful experience to start with a flat piece of fabric, and with application of a few basic rules and methods, turn it into something wearable, useable, or otherwise enjoyable.

Learning to sew is easy:

Our very first lesson for beginners covers the basics of operating a sewing machine, including the name of machine parts, bobbins and settings. Are you old enough to learn sewing skills? If you can read you can sew.

Our second lesson is sewing on paper with thread making brown paper shapes that we can use for cards and decorations for the Xmas tree.

Our third lesson is sewing a small denim bag - using decorative stitches and different stitch lengths - in other words playing with the machine.

Our fourth lesson is making a simple hoodie (jumper with hood attached), which all kids wear and they would be so proud of themselves in their first garment stitching!

Little Black Dress (LBD)

Every woman should have their very own LBD...to some it's long and dramatic; to others it's short, sexy and sassy; and occasionally it's just cute and very simple.

We will kick-off with a princess-line fitted pattern from the Lutterloh Pattern collection (our Master Pattern). We will discuss which style to select to your body shape and fabric suggestions.

The fun starts then - designing some of the styles and how to create your own personal combination to get the perfect LBD. Full instructions and helpful hints to sew your LBD together will be provided.
