Remember to fit your pattern first. This is a semi-fitting blouse with under arm bust dart. Check the dart, the length and the length of the sleeves. You can choose any blouse pattern in your collection and do similar changes to it. Mark all your markings on your paper pattern. Pre-shrink your fabric if necessary. Remember to add seam allowances. I added to my center front to sew a extended quick placket. All explained in my E-Book. Sew your shoulder seams after finishing the extended placket. Prepare collar stand.
Grade neckline of shirt so it's compatible to your collar stand.
Change top collar to Express collar.
Cut one on fabric fold. Cut interfacing and iron-on. Insert express collar, to collar band.
Finish blouse - Sew side seams, insert sleeves, cuffs and hem shirt Enjoy wearing it!
A Pattern Making retreat is sure to delight your senses! If you want to feel invigorated and renewed, make plans to attend and bring along your sewing buddy to the event and also make new friends. It will be a great learning experience. We are planning our first Pattern Making retreat and it will take place at Lake Taupo in New Zealand on 2-4 March 2012. During the week-end, Sonja will be covering Blouse, Trousers and Skirt designing projects. We will kick-off with a pattern from the Lutterloh Pattern collection (our master pattern) and apply some simple design changes. Full instructions and some helpfull hints will be provided. Total cost for the week-end will be NZ$330 per person and includes the following:
